PARTY TIPS
We have hosted many parties as our time as Sparkle & Co.
So we have hand picked up a few tips along the way to
help your party run smoothly!
The average child's party lasts around 2 hours with time to break in the middle for a buffet or some snacks & a cold drink to refresh.
Start by choosing a date, time and a venue. Begin enquiring on your venue, cake & chosen entertainment options. Make a list of party guests & start prepping some invitations.
Keep party food simple. Children do not want to sit still for too long. Buffet style is low cost option or grab some little cardboard lunch boxes & fill with a sandwich, some snacks & a carton of juice. Quick & easy to tidy away too.
You may have booked us, a party planner to help things run smoothly throughout your party & to take care of games & entertainment.
Recruit a few friends or family to help you out & keep stress levels low if you are running your own party. Often parents of the party guests offer to help out, take them up on their offer if you are becoming over whelmed.
Book your venue & chosen entertainment early to any avoid disappointment.
Confirm times with your venue & entertainer a couple of days in advance of your party to ensure there are no mix ups.
Ensure you take the venue key holders phone number with you too in case you need them for any reason.
Have some jugs of squash & water ready. By having cardboard cups you can write each child's name on their cup with a sharpie saving them getting mixed up.
(Plus you can recycle the cups after too)
Party horns are a great idea when you buy them however you may regret that purchase when 25 party horns are being blasted all at the same time for 2 hours! Save them for a party bag treat!
Take along a few toys from home if you have some toddlers coming to your party to help keep them entertained.
Don't forget to send out your invitations. There are many options available, you can download designs from the internet to print & fill in, buy some in store or even get creative & make your own invites with the children.
Remember to add RSVP details on so you know how many party guests you will have at your child's party.
Balloons are an easy simple & cost effective decoration. They are always popular with children. A selection of loose colourful balloons always ensure some fun to be had bouncing them around! (Perhaps even the adults will join in)
Bouncy castles are great fun, but put your bouncy castle down when it's time for the Birthday cake! That way you have everyone's undivided attention.
Work alongside your party entertainer to know if there are times where it may be handy to have the castle down so they can concentrate on party games & activities with a captive audience.
Overall enjoy yourself, after all it's a party!
Enjoy watching your loved ones laugh, dance and smile with their friends.
